Ambermoore
Ambermoore, a realm nestled between majestic mountains and ancient forests, once bore witness to the ebb and flow of life in perfect harmony. For two hundred cycles, tranquility reigned as the kingdom prospered under the benevolent gaze of the true ruler—the venerable Tree of Life. Its roots ran deep, intertwining with the very essence of the land, restoring nature to its rightful place after a dark chapter in Ambermoore's history.
Long ago, the inhabitants of Ambermoore had succumbed to the allure of power, attempting to subdue nature with their greed and recklessness. The consequences were dire—plants and creatures teetered on the edge of destruction, and the earth itself withered under the weight of their folly. A bitter cold swept over the land, signaling the onset of a curse that gripped the realm.
The Tree of Life
In the annals of time, a legend emerged that transcended the boundaries of mortal existence — the tale of "The Tree of Life." Rooted in the primordial whispers of creation, this ancient arboreal entity became a symbol of the interconnectedness between the mundane and the mystical, embodying the essence of life itself.
The origins of The Tree of Life are shrouded in the mists of ancient epochs, where reality and myth converge. Some believe it was born from the tears of celestial beings, while others contend that it sprang forth from the very breath of the universe. Regardless of its genesis, The Tree of Life became a central figure in the cosmic tapestry, its roots stretching across dimensions and its branches touching the fabric of existence.
As the epochs unfolded, The Tree of Life found its home in the heart of Ambermoore, a realm where nature's beauty and vitality flourished. Its presence infused the land with a vibrant energy that sustained life in all its forms. The kingdom thrived under the benevolent guardianship of this ancient entity, and the inhabitants revered it as the true sovereign of their realm.
Garden of Life
A serene and peaceful place. It is a combination between stone structures, suspended gardens, water ponds, and waterfalls. The key element is The Tree of Life which is located in the center of a suspended round terrace. The Tree of Life is the source of everything beautiful in Ambermoore.
The Garden of Life is surrounded by the beautiful Gladys Forest.
Master Adric is the keeper of this place and the protector of the Primordial Seeds. Those seeds are kept in the Sanctuary of the Wind holds all the plant seeds in Ambermoore.
Wheelburg Village
Wheelburg consists of 3-4 caravan carriages, traveling through the realm of Ambermoore.
Wheelburg is a real technological wonder. All of the 3-4 wagons are connected and form a small wheeled train. The caravan-village moves autonomously through a specially designed engine that runs on lemon juice and wind power. The villagers can continue some of their activities while traveling. Once in a pleasant place, the caravan-village deploys, forming a small settlement.
Usually the village can be found in the northern part of Gladys Forest - in Honeymoor Meadow but also in other locations such as Windy Trail or in certain areas under Old High Passage.
The inhabitants of the caravan generally deal with the production of simple products and trade. They are very skilled and inventive in what they do, their products are highly appreciated by the villagers of Aster. Their stouts and cask ales can be tasted in the Aster Tavern. Teas, elixirs and potions can be found at the herbalist's store. Aster Cookery Farm is also the work of the extraordinary villagers of Wheelburg. From time to time they use their specially created oils to lubricate the farm's mechanisms.
Grayshire Mountains
Grayshire Mountains surround the land of Ambermoore representing its impenetrable border. Its high peaks that touch the clouds are always covered with snow. The lower areas are dominated by forest and are generally quiet places. At the base the mountain joins the Gladys Forest. The mountains are where many creatures have their place - some friendly and some less so- evil spirits and creatures have found their place and are trying to stop anyone from trying to reach the top of the mountain. By far the most dangerous of them are dragons.
The very steep slopes made the Grayshire Mountains inaccessible to the inhabitants of Ambermoore. For this the ancient inhabitants built the Whispering Stairs, a path that starts from the Flooded Temple and reaches up to the highest peak of the mountain -Hawk’s Peak.
Towards the top of the mountain the stairs pass through a series of corridors, tunnels and passages, narrow paths, suspension bridges over deep precipices- obstacles and dangers are present everywhere. At the end of this path is Hawk’s Peak - a plateau where the Zephyrus dock is located- the only access to Windmoore Village.
There are two more structures on the plateau: Eternal Flame- a lighthouse that guides the flight of Zephyrus and Hawk's Shrine - a place with a breathtaking view from where the shapeshifter can take his flight, in the form of a hawk, to the Gladys Forest and the Aster Village.
Village of Aster
L
ocated east of Gladys Forest, it is a friendly and full of life place. Its inhabitants are friendly and nature lovers. The houses are constructed in european medieval style - stone and wood. The narrow streets join in the center of the village where the small Amber Square is located.
To the west of the village flows Crystalbell River, forming a small bay where the Aster Embarkment and the Fisherman's Hut are located.
In the northern part of the village, Aster Cookery Farm can be found - a real wonder in Ambermoore realm. This farm is a machinery powered by a small stream flowing from the east part of Aster to Crystalbell river's bay. This farm is automatically producing basically all the food necessary for Aster villagers.
The small community is nature powered technology based. There are a few small businesses in the village like a tavern, butchery, blacksmith, herbalist store , market located in Amber Square.
Village of Windmoore
Windmoore is an island in the clouds that can only be accessed from the Grayshire Mountains, but its inhabitants do not like guests too much.
The first inhabitants of the village were those who fled from the path of evil that had taken possession of Ambermoore realm a long time ago.
The small community built a settlement on the island with the help of skilled inventors from Wheelburg. The village is built on huge mechanisms that can rotate the structures - both houses and streets and bridges. Windmoore is based almost exclusively on wind energy.
One of the most important technologies owned by the village is Zephyrus- an airship used to travel to the realms below and to explore the vastness of the sky in search of new sky islands. Zephyrus looks like a flying caravel, with a balloon on top instead of sails and two side wings made of linen. The connection between the realms below and the sky island is made by the Windmoore air harbor and the Hawk's Peak in the Grayshire Mountains. The connection between the air harbor and the island is made by The Bridge Of Sky - a mechanical-movable bridge- as a form of protection against unwanted guests.
Lost Labyrinth
Nobody knows who built it, but it is the place where the forces of evil nested. It had long since been sealed by the Keeper of the Garden of Life, and no one from Ambermoore entered.
The gate of the Labyrinth is reached through the Nettle Valley, west of the Gladys Forest and which winds through the Grayshire Mountains.
The labyrinth is built mostly of stone and wood but natural elements can also be found- from place to place nature has made its place. The winding corridors are full of pitfalls and obstacles - every dead end can mean the end of the journey. The wooden bridges over the chasms are weak, so care must be taken at every step. Some parts of the maze are operated by mechanisms that can change its structure - they can change the orientation of some corridors or the location of some chambers.
The corridors and chambers of the labyrinth are haunted by lost spirits and ghouls, held captive and controlled by the forces of evil that have taken over the whole place- spirits and ghouls are animated by an underground river called the River of Souls. The complex structure of the labyrinth but also its seal prevent these spirits from coming out in Ambermoore.
Gladys Forest
The largest area in Ambermoore, a peaceful place full of magic and mystery, and is located north of The Garden of Life and west of Aster. In this place of fantasy, the player will experience various enemy encounters, dangerous obstacles and a lot of places to explore.
Crystalbell River flows through the forest in 2 directions: from the south from the Garden of Life and from the east from Aster. The river flows northwest into the Misty Lake, forming small waterfalls and ponds along the way.
Windy Trail is the main road that crosses the forest from the Garden of Life to the Honeymoor Meadow in the north. A small path starts from the Windy Trail just before the Meadow, starts east and enters the village forming Aster High Street.
Old High Passage is the key element in the Gladys Forest and it is an ancient structure, built by the first inhabitants of Ambermoore in times long forgotten. The role of this construction was to protect, as a wall - both physically and magically, the Tree of Life against the evil that lurks beyond these realms.
The Old High Passage stretches from the south of the forest, from the gate of the Garden of Life and goes to the Misty Lake and the mountains from the north.
At the top of the passage is an ancient road, dotted with traps, obstacles and all sorts of dangers. Below this road from the top, there are interior corridors, as dangerous and full of traps and obstacles as the road above. From place to place there are towers that were used as observation points, some with fire pits or bells.
These have long been used to warn Aster villagers of the dangers. At the base of some of these towers are small dungeons and secret tunnels - that connect those dungeons. Legend says that the passage was built on an underground river.
Misty Lake
Misty Lake, this place full of mystery, is located northwest of Gladys Forest, at the end of Old High Passage. The thin sheet of fog that covers the lake does not make it a very welcoming place. The inhabitants of Ambermoore avoid this place, their legends say that in the depths of the lake there are creatures and evil spirits.
On the right bank is a small pier and a boat with which the lake can be crossed to the Flooded Temple.
The Flooded Temple is a ruin whose structure starts from the depths of the lake and continues on the left bank of the lake. Its dark halls and corridors are flooded but can be explored by boat or on foot, where the water is not deep.
The temple hides priceless treasures but also a lot of secrets well guarded by obstacles and traps. Danger is everywhere and narrow flooded corridors can create strong currents, making boat control a real challenge.
In the depths of the temple, beyond the Great Hall is the Whispering Stairs, the path to Hawk's Peak through the Grayshire Mountains.
